Engine

 The engine is the source of mechanical energy fed to the generator. The size of the engine is directly proportional to the maximum output power at the generator.

There are several factors that must be taken into account while evaluating a generator engine. Consult the engine manufacturer for complete engine operating specifications and maintenance schedules.

Fuel type used - Generator engines run on a variety of fuels such as diesel, gasoline, propane. (in liquid or gas form) or natural gas Small engines usually run on gasoline, while larger engines run on diesel, liquefied propane, propane gas or natural gas. Some engines can also run on both diesel and gas dual-fuel in dual-fuel mode.
